This online course has two main components: the course site, and the online classes.
For our course site, we use the very popular Moodle system. This is where we will post your course outline, assignments, quizzes, course schedule and news, and links to our weekly online class. Think of it as your “homeroom” class. You will receive a username and password to access this site.
Our online classes are held on Elluminate (image left), a powerful and easy to use web-based virtual classroom, with streaming video and audio chat, application sharing, a whiteboard- which really just means you may forget that you’re taking the class online. You don’t need any special software to access Elluminate; we will send you a weblink which will take you right inside.
The course consists of a 2 hour live, interactive class each week for 8 weeks, and assignments and quizzes to be completed on Moodle between each class.
When are the Classes held?
Class is whenever is most convenient for you. Once registration is complete for the course, we will ask all participants what time and day works best. We will then select a time and day to hold our weekly class based on when most participants will be available. If the time selected is not convenient for you, or if you have to miss a class for any reason, no problem! A recording of the lectures will be posted to our Moodle site immediately following class, so you can watch it at your convenience.
We recommend, and will be teaching the use of the Pointoselect DT point finder. If you do not have this particular pointfinder, it is okay, but we strongly recommend this one for its ability to find active points and also treat those points. The 3v hammer is also a very useful tool for Level 1.
Technical Requirements:
In order to participate fully in the interactive class, you will need:
High-speed internet connection
Headset with microphone (USB connection is better than analog)
