Qigong is a healing art of moving meditation. This qigong is called Sheng Zhen, which means, “the highest truth”. Its purpose is healing of mind body and emotions. The flowing movements of this qigong, along with its contemplative messages, reduces anxiety and worry, and opens the heart to deep levels of peace and compassion for all. In our daily lives, we need practices such as this one to move through our stresses, which helps us to be of greater service within our communities.
“Qi” is the unlimited life force, and “gong” means to cultivate the qi. Through intentful interaction of the physical movements with contemplations, this qigong brings us to a state of inner peace and connection.
Sheng Zhen Qigong has several forms, each with 3 – 16 movements, interspersed with holding positions, as well as nonmoving meditation forms. Any one of the forms can be practiced to bring one to a state of ease and open heartedness.
When we open our hearts and connect to the state of the “highest truth” we have the greatest quality of qi available for healing our mind, heart and body. This practice of Sheng Zhen is a most beneficial path of daily practice.
VPI is offering a series of weekend seminars as well as weekly local classes; details below.

Our Vision
To share this loving practice of Sheng Zhen Qigong so that individuals may experience its gift of healing and to promote, teach and support teachers and healers of this qigong
Practitioner and Teacher Preparation Program
VPI is offering a unique training program to share and extend Sheng Zhen! This program, over a two year period, provides an exciting opportunity for individuals, teachers and healers to bring Sheng Zhen into their own personal practice and their communities. The series is followed by an International Teacher Training hosted in Nova Scotia. Participants of the full series will be qualified to take the Teacher Training, July 2011, as candidates for certification as Sheng Zhen Teachers. The training series features training with our master Teacher, Li Jun Feng. A renowned qigong teacher, national Wushi coach and Kung Fu movie star from Beijing, Teacher Li now dedicates his life to Sheng Zhen.
We are delighted to bring Teacher Li to Nova Scotia in May 2010, and July 2011.
To learn more about this renowned qigong teacher and master; Teacher Li is featured on Wikipedia and on YouTube. You can also visit his international website, which includes recommended articles on Sheng Zhen philosophy.
VPI is offering a series of weekends over a two-year period with a three fold intent:
To teach Sheng Zhen qigong for individual daily practice
To prepare interested students for teaching Sheng Zhen to others in their communities
To introduce “qigong healing” for health practitioners.
This series of weekends will teach various forms of Sheng Zhen Qigong as well as how to use this Qigong for one-on-one healing sessions. While the training sessions build upon each other, they can also be taken independent of each other and are open to all levels of experience.
Beyond the weekly and weekend trainings being hosted by VPI, there will be a 10 day International Teacher Training in Halifax led by Teacher Li, July 2011. The weekend series qualifies students to attend this 10 day retreat as candidates for Teacher Certification. The Teacher Training retreat is also available for those wanting to simply deepen their own practice and experience of Sheng Zhen ~ if space is available.
All forms of Sheng Zhen are adaptable to varying levels of health and ability.
We will be encouraging and preparing all students of this series to begin sharing this qigong as “practice teachers” in their communities, with other individuals or groups.
